The September, Female Student-Athlete of the Month is Madison Resk. She was nominated by Coach Beau Brockett. This is what Coach Brockett said about Madison:
" I can honestly say that Madison was one of the hardest working athletes I have ever coached. She was usually the first golfer at the course and the last to leave. Having never golfed competitively before to becoming our #1 golfer is a great task, in a very difficult sport. I'm truly going to miss her next year."
The September, Male Student-Athlete of the Month is Matthew Bartolomucci. He was nominated by Coach John Kocher. This is what Coach Kocher said about Matthew:
"Matt is an extremely smart and physical player. Matt has played 5 different positions during our outbreak of injuries. He is focused on absorbing the entire game plan, not only his position."
The May, Female Student-Athlete of the Month is Madelynn Bean. She was nominated by Coach Preston Treend. This is what Coach Treend said about Madelynn:
"Maddy had a big month of May! The junior broke school records in both the 1600m and 3200m run. Her record time of 11:21.30 in the 3200m run earned her a Regional Championship and a berth in the State Finals."
The May, Male Student-Athlete of the Month is Austin Warn. He was nominated by Coach Beau Brockett. This is what Coach Brockett said about Austin:
"Austin is a hard working and passionate about the game of golf. As a first time golfer, he has improved his stroke average by 12 strokes. Anyone who has golfed knows that is a huge achievement. I believe Austin will be a solid foundation for the Richmond Golf Program for years to come."
The March, Female Student-Athlete of the month is Jessie Melton. She was nominated by Coach Brian Roodbeen. This is what Coach Roodbeen said about Jessie:
"Jessie is the definition of a student athlete. Jessie is a member of the Top 10 in her graduating class with a 4.095 GPA. She is also a key member of the Girls Soccer team. Jessie has 4 goals on the year and as a central defender she has prevented many goals and scoring chances from the opposition. Jesse is a kind-hearted, generous, and intelligent young lady that will make a positive impact on society."
The April, Male Student-Athlete of the Month is Ethan Wyatt. He was nominated by Coach Preston Treend. This is what Coach Treend said about Ethan:
"Ethan has been one of the top hurdlers in the area the past three years. He swept the 110m and 300m hurdles in 4 out of the 5 league duals in the month of April."
The March, Female Student-Athlete of the month is Abigail Bean. She was nominated by Coach Preston Treend. This is what Coach Treend said about Abigail:
"Abigail is a fierce competitor and a great leader. She runs the anchor legs of the 4x200m and 4x400m Relays as well as the open 400m and Long jump. Her times are regular scorers for the Varsity and she is a great leader and example for the other members of the track team."
The March, Male Student-Athlete of the Month is Andrew Ball. He was nominated by Coach Scott Evans. This is what Coach Evans said about Andrew:
"Andrew Ball exemplifies everything we want in our students athletes.. He is the first one at practice and the last to leave. He assumes a leadership role and makes his fellow teammates accountable. He always asks me to come in early, to come in on off days to put extra time in. After he finishes his school practice, he goes to the RAC and puts in more time getting stronger and getting the most out of his potential.
We teach family, pride, honor and brotherhood to our players. He is all these and more. "
The February, Female Student-Athlete of the month is Emily Mikolasik. She was nominated by Coach Kelli Matthes. This is what Coach Matthes said about Emily:
"Emily is a true treasure to coach. She is a three round athlete, a great student, and one of the most dedicated and hard working kids that we have. Even fighting through a nagging ankle injury all year, she always fought hard to not let it hold her back in any way. I am beyond proud of the athlete, student and person that she has become."
The February, Male Student-Athlete of the month is Wesley Peters. He was nominated by Coach Preston Treend. This is what Coach Treend said about Wesley:
"In February, Wesley Peters went 14-5 (6 by fall), Was 2nd at BWAC, 2nd at Individual Districts, Individual Regional Champ, and placed 6th at the Individual State Finals."
Our January, female Student-Athlete of the month is Shannon Gaffney. She was nominated by Coach Jeff Paxon. This is what Coach Paxon said about Shannon:
"Shannon is averaging 9 points and 9 rebounds a game. She’s a leader on the court and in the locker room. Shannon’s academic career at Richmond High School also speaks for itself. Her positive attitude and coach ability are examples to all. She’s a fantastic student athlete and this honor deserves to rest with her before she graduates."
Our January, Male Student-Athlete of the month is Zachary Ray. He was nominated by Coach Damien Germain. This is what Coach Germain said about Zachary:
"Zach is a four year varsity bowler who is averaging over 200 this season. He is in the running for our league MVP this season and finished first overall in our Eastern Michigan Bowling Conference."
